Vintage Leaves with Birch Trees

How did I get those birch trees colored?  Start with the new 6" x 6" Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing older on page 39 of the Holiday catalog.  Or see it in my on-line store along with the other items used to create these two cards here.

On the raised side of the folder, that is the side with the Sizzix name on it, color the raised portions of the tree with the large brush end of your Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker.  Work quickly so your ink won't dry before you put your Sahara Sand card stock inside.  Emboss it with your Big Shot.  To whiten the trees, I used a sponge dauber with Craft White Ink.   Adhere to 4 " x 5 1/4" piece of Blackberry Bliss or Tangelo Twist card stock.  Adhere to A2 Delightful Dijon card stock base.

The next card uses Crumb Cake card stock and the same Woodland Embossing Folder without any addition of ink before or after you emboss it.  The card base is Very Vanilla, with layers of Tangelo Twist and Early Espresso card stock.  The oak leaf is from the Vintage Leaves Bundle, too.  Save 15% on the bundle here.

Directions for the leaves are the same for both cards.  Begin with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock large enough to hold as many leaves as you wish to make.  Using a sponge for each color you want to make your leave, sponge on splotches of colors such as Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze, Hello Honey, or any color that reminds you of fall leaves. Overlap some of the colors to make a new shade!  I added a touch of Old Olive, too.  Let dry thoroughly!    Wipe well with your embossing buddy before stamping the leaves with Versa Mark onto the colored card stock .  You may need to twist the card stock around a little to see where you have stamped before adding more leaves.  Sprinkle with clear embossing powder.  Tap off excess.  Heat to set.  Let cool to dry.  Sponge Soft Suede ink over embossed leaves.  Wipe excess off with a tissue.   Cut the leaves out with the Leaflets Framelits that coordinate with the Vintage Leaves Stamp Set by running them through the Big Shot.  Get the Bundle and save 15% here.

I embellished the leaves with Blackberry Bliss and Tangelo Twist Thick Baker's Twine from my stash. The wooden acorn is from the 2014 Holiday Catalog.  You will find adorable Into the Woods Elements on page 43 of the Holiday Catalog.

I would love to have separated the instructions into neat paragraphs for you but the "Gremlins" within this post would not allow me to format the way I wanted!!

Here is a list of supplies I used for these leaf cards.  Click on any one of them to order from my on-line store.  Thank you.

Have a FaBOOlous Halloween!

You do not need to be a huge fan of Halloween to like these little guys on Stampin' Up!'s Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper on page 47 of the Holiday catalog.  Take a look at how they go well with the Host Reward Six Sayings stamp set on page 51 of the Holiday catalog.  The Six Sayings Set is one you will want to get. You can choose this stamp set when you submit an order of at least $150. here.  In addition to "FaBOOlous", there are 5 other sayings great for the fall holiday season.  I had to have this set for the "Thankful" stamp but can't wait to use all 6 of the stamps.

Yes, another window scene!  The leaves are falling, pumpkins are ripe for cooking or making a Jack-o-Lanterns and there is a nip in the air.  So glad I am inside looking out at this scene.

The measurements are underlined for your convenience.
The A2 card base is Very Vanilla card stock.  The 2014-2015 In-Color, Tangelo Twist card stock behind the DSP is 4" x 5 1/4".  The Happy Haunting DSP is cut at 3 3/4" x 5".  I die cut the window from a 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock.  The "scene" , stamped with Crumb Cake ink, fits behind the embossed marks of the window and is on about a 2 3/8  " x  3" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  The pumpkins are colored with a Stampin' Write Tangelo Twist marker.  The leaves are colored with various fall colors of Stampin' Write markers.  "FaBOOlous" is stamped on a 1" x 5 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock with Mementos Tuxedo Black ink.  The orange sequins add a little pizzazz.  I adhered everything with SNAIL adhesive except the window frame where I used Stampin' Dimensionals.

To order any of the items that were used to make this FaBOOlous card , click on the picture below to start an order.  Notice that I list the stamp set and thinlits die separately and as a bundle.  The bundle saves you 15% over the individual pieces.  You're going to love the 16 pieces of the Happy Scenes stamp set so just enjoy the 15% savings by buying the bundle.

New Archival Black Ink

 I'm the New Kid

 on the Stampin' UP! block!

Check out Stampin' Up!'s new Archival Black Stampin' Pad (it comes in Basic Gray, too!) just released September 1, 2015.  Okay, so what's to see?  It looks like all the other Stampin' Up! Stampin' Pads!   Ah, but it is what's inside that matters.  All the complaints you may have had with the now retired Classic Stampin' Black ink pad are gone with this new permanent ink perfect for use with watercoloring.  It dries quickly, does not clump or smear - I love it!  There are refills available, too.  They are on the lower left corner of page 19 in the Holiday Catalog.  Or order it at my on-line store.
