Springtime in January! Flowering Fields Abound.

One of my favorite day trips in early spring is to drive east and see the wildflowers at the Carrizo Plain.   Each year we see slightly different amounts of the flowers but they are always beautiful!  Maybe one of those drives is what inspired this card.  Flowering Fields stamp set is on page 12 of the Stampin' Up! 2016 Sale-A-Bration catalog.  There are 6 individual flowers and a butterfly in the set.  You can combine the flowers as you wish.  Actually, to my eye, they are wildflowers.

In addition to the Flowering Fields stamp set, I used coordinating pieces of Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The background I used behind the card to photograph it is another sheet of the Wildflower Fields DSP.  And, I got both the stamp set and DSP FREE!!!

I really like that word...FREE.  You can get some FREE Sale-A-Bration items until March 31, 2016, too!  Leave me a comment to ask me how.

Here are the supplies and dimensions used to make this  "spring delight" card.

11" x 4 1/4" Whisper White card stock (CS), scored at 5 1/2"  for a landscape card
2 3/8" x 5" Whisper White CS for tag
5 1/4" x 4" Crumb Cake CS
2 1/2" x 5 1/8" Crumb Cake CS for tag
5"x 3 3/4" Hello Honey CS
1 3/4" x 3 1/2" Wildflower Fields DSP
1/2" x 3 1/2" Wildflower DSP
Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad
Watermelon Wonder Classic Stampin' Pad
Hello Honey Classic Stampin' Pad
Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin' Pad
Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad
Blender Pen
Stampin' Dimensionals
Scallop Tag Topper Punch
3" Watermelon Wonder 1" Dotted Lace Trim
2014-2016 In Color Designer Washi Tape

Punch the Whisper White and Crumb Cake tag card stock (separately).  The tag card stocks are wider than the 2" punch.  To accommodate slightly larger pieces of card stock,  I turn the punch over and line up the card stock evenly between both sides before punching.  Then fussy cut the edges near the scallop to have it transition to the sides.

Stamp the flowers onto the tag using Basic Black ink.

Squeeze the lid of the closed stampin' pads to transfer some ink onto the lid.  Open pad.  Using a blender pen, take a little of the ink that transferred to the lid and color your flowers and leaves.  To clean the blender pen between colors, wipe it onto a piece of scrap paper until it runs clear.

Sponge the edges of the white tag with Hello Honey.

Line up the hole at the top of the two tag pieces and tie the Watermelon Water trim through them.

Adhere Whisper White CS to Crumb Cake CS tag.  Set aside.

Adhere small strip of DSP to larger strip.  (See photo above.) Adhere larger strip to top, left side of Hello Honey CS about 1/8" from left edge.

Adhere to Crumb Cake CS, then to Whisper White card base.

Use 4 Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the tag; place it at an angle onto the Hello Honey front.

Tear about 2 1/4" strip of Blackberry Bliss washi tape to add onto the Hello Honey front below the tag.  Tear about 2 1/2" strip of Mossy Meadow washi tape. Adhere it onto the Hello Honey front overlapping the Blackberry Bliss strip by about 2/3.  See the photo for placement.

Sponged Rose Wonder to Brighten Your Day!

Another beautiful flower bundle!  This rose covers most of an A2 card.  You can see the stamp set, coordinating thinlit dies and the bundle on page 18 of the 2016 Occasions catalog.

You know I can not resist sponging!  Here I used Melon Mambo, Rose Red and Calypso Coral inks on Whisper White card stock to sponge the rose.  The leaves are sponged with Old Olive.  Then I die cut the rose outline from Basic Gray card stock.  I adhered it with a small amount of the Fine-tip glue pen.
Added a greeting.  This one is from a 2013 Hostess Set called Simply Sketched.
Adhered the decorated Whisper White CS to Melon Mambo CS then to Basic Gray CS before adhering it to an A2 Whisper White CS base.  Add a drop of Dazzling Details or a rhinestone as dew on the rose.

Here are the dimensions:
8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Whisper White card stock
4 1/8" x 5 3/8" Basic Gray card stock
4" x 5 1/4" Melon Mambo card stock

Bloomin' Love is in the Air!

I went crazy with Stampin' Up!'s new Bloomin'Heart Thinlits Dies.  I won't bore you with all 14 of them but want to share one or two of my favorites.

It is no secret that I love to sponge.  Here is my sponged heart that coordinates with Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack.  Both may be seen on pages 16 and 17 of the 2016 Occasions catalog.  Or, click here.
Stampin' Up! Supplies you will need:  (CS = card stock)

Bloomin' Love Stamp Set
Bloomin' Heart Thinlit Dies
8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Whisper White CS, scored at 4 1/4"
5 1/4" x 4" Crumb Cake CS
5 1/8" x 3 7/8" Melon Mambo CS
3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White CS
3 3/4" x 4" Whisper White CS, for the heart
Pink Pirouette CS, scrap
3 3/4" x 1" Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Melon Mambo Classic Stampin' Pad ink
Pink Pirouette Classic Stampin' Pad ink
Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad ink
Ribbon
Pearls

Sponges
Big Shot
Precision Base Plate
Big Shot Die Brush - if you do not have one of these, you will want to click here and get yourself one.  It is fantastic!!
4 1/4" Pink ribbon from my stash ( this one is Pretty in Pink)

Lightly trace the outline of the large heart thinlit leaving a small margin around it onto the smallest Whisper White CS.  Sponge within the outline beginning with the Pink Pirouette ink.  Sponge Melon Mambo and Crumb Cake ink.  Burnish all with Pink Pirouette ink.  Let dry.  Check to see that you like the color effect you have created.  Sponge additional ink if you would like.  Using the Big Shot with the Precision Base Plate, die cut the heart.  Save the scrap for the flowers.  Now use the most fantastic tool - the Big Shot Die Brush to remove all of the little pieces from the die.
Stamp 1 large and one small solid flower with Melon Mambo ink.  Stamp 1 large and 2 small outline flowers with Melon Mambo ink.  Also, stamp 1 large and 2 small solid flowers with Pink Pirouette ink.  Die cut them out.
Stamp your sentiment onto the scrap of Pink Pirouette CS, cut into a banner.
To assemble your card, adhere Crumb Cake CS to the Whisper White card base, center Melon Mambo CS on top.
Adhere the heart onto the 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White CS near the top.  I recommend that you use the fine-tip glue pen and add glue to the larger flowers with just a tiny amount to some of the outer leaves to prevent bleed through glue.
Glue the DSP 1/8 " from the bottom.  Add stamped banner on DSP.  Position ribbon to cover seam  that DSP makes.  I like to use double sided tape to adhere ribbon behind the card stock.
Layer a smaller flower onto the 2 large flowers (see photo above).  Add pearls  in the center of the flowers.
You have a Valentine, or card for any special person.  It works nicely for a birthday, get well, thinking of you, or friend card by changing the sentiment.

You can change the ink and background card stock colors to your favorites.  Wouldn't Blackberry Bliss be a stunning addition to the pinks?
