Springtime in January! Flowering Fields Abound.

One of my favorite day trips in early spring is to drive east and see the wildflowers at the Carrizo Plain.   Each year we see slightly different amounts of the flowers but they are always beautiful!  Maybe one of those drives is what inspired this card.  Flowering Fields stamp set is on page 12 of the Stampin' Up! 2016 Sale-A-Bration catalog.  There are 6 individual flowers and a butterfly in the set.  You can combine the flowers as you wish.  Actually, to my eye, they are wildflowers.

In addition to the Flowering Fields stamp set, I used coordinating pieces of Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The background I used behind the card to photograph it is another sheet of the Wildflower Fields DSP.  And, I got both the stamp set and DSP FREE!!!

I really like that word...FREE.  You can get some FREE Sale-A-Bration items until March 31, 2016, too!  Leave me a comment to ask me how.

Here are the supplies and dimensions used to make this  "spring delight" card.

11" x 4 1/4" Whisper White card stock (CS), scored at 5 1/2"  for a landscape card
2 3/8" x 5" Whisper White CS for tag
5 1/4" x 4" Crumb Cake CS
2 1/2" x 5 1/8" Crumb Cake CS for tag
5"x 3 3/4" Hello Honey CS
1 3/4" x 3 1/2" Wildflower Fields DSP
1/2" x 3 1/2" Wildflower DSP
Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad
Watermelon Wonder Classic Stampin' Pad
Hello Honey Classic Stampin' Pad
Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin' Pad
Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad
Blender Pen
Stampin' Dimensionals
Scallop Tag Topper Punch
3" Watermelon Wonder 1" Dotted Lace Trim
2014-2016 In Color Designer Washi Tape

Punch the Whisper White and Crumb Cake tag card stock (separately).  The tag card stocks are wider than the 2" punch.  To accommodate slightly larger pieces of card stock,  I turn the punch over and line up the card stock evenly between both sides before punching.  Then fussy cut the edges near the scallop to have it transition to the sides.

Stamp the flowers onto the tag using Basic Black ink.

Squeeze the lid of the closed stampin' pads to transfer some ink onto the lid.  Open pad.  Using a blender pen, take a little of the ink that transferred to the lid and color your flowers and leaves.  To clean the blender pen between colors, wipe it onto a piece of scrap paper until it runs clear.

Sponge the edges of the white tag with Hello Honey.

Line up the hole at the top of the two tag pieces and tie the Watermelon Water trim through them.

Adhere Whisper White CS to Crumb Cake CS tag.  Set aside.

Adhere small strip of DSP to larger strip.  (See photo above.) Adhere larger strip to top, left side of Hello Honey CS about 1/8" from left edge.

Adhere to Crumb Cake CS, then to Whisper White card base.

Use 4 Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the tag; place it at an angle onto the Hello Honey front.

Tear about 2 1/4" strip of Blackberry Bliss washi tape to add onto the Hello Honey front below the tag.  Tear about 2 1/2" strip of Mossy Meadow washi tape. Adhere it onto the Hello Honey front overlapping the Blackberry Bliss strip by about 2/3.  See the photo for placement.
